There are Indian Paintbrushes ...
... and Blue Bonnets ...... growing in the front yard.
All of the beautiful flowers (courtesy of Zac's green thumb) are now accompanied by one more sign of spring.
We decided, however, that being in DFW is best for our family and we're now looking forward to this next adventure. We're not going anywhere until our house sells so we are just enjoying the time that we have in our home.
So, let's get back to the Blue Bonnets. This is the second year that we tried to get traditional Texas Blue Bonnet pictures of Cael. For my out-of-state friends and family, Blue Bonnets and other wildflowers explode all over Texas fields and roadsides at this time of year. It is a traditional rite of spring to snap family pictures among the Blue Bonnets.
Last year's photos are hardly "keepers." We had too much sun ...
... and then too many shadows.
And after looking through all of his sad and angry pictures, those two were probably the best of the day. Oh, and there was this one too ...
Do not worry, the car was not on and Cael was not driving.
We decided to try again this year and thought we might have an easier time in our front yard. We waited, however, until the end of the day and Cael was not really in the mood for our photo shoot, hence the wide range of emotions ...
... frustrated ...
... distracted ...
... sleepy ...
... very sleepy.
The only time our little guy perked up was when Scrappy was shoved into the picture with him.We might not have many photogenic moments in our lives these days, but we wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything else in the world.
OK, hysterical! Maybe there is something in the bloodline to make our offspring not cooperate during blue bonnet pics? I love, love, love Cael's sweet expressions...even his frustrated face is still so cute. Hope to see you again soon!
